NOTICE:
A new flow-wrap has launched that, stops its metal contents from corroding.
Technology Packaging has introduced TechCorro, a multi-layered film that is able to both withstand the heat of flow-wrapping lines and protect metal parts from corrosion.
Previously, if a manufacturer of metal components used flow wrapping they had to rely on oil to protect from corrosion. This has health and safety implications as well as attracting dust and dirt.
The new material is aimed at all companies producing metal parts, including the automotive and aerospace industries.
Technology Packaging already adds anti-corrosion chemicals known as VCIs - or volatile corrosion inhibitors - to a number of materials but this is the first time that VCIs have been successfully used in flow-wrap.
Current materials using VCIs included stretch and bubble films, papers, boards, plastics, foams, powders and liquids.
